HUMAN NEEDS, WANTS AND RIGHTS – St. Aidan’s Community College, Dublin Hill

 In this class we explored human needs, wants and rights. The visual arts enable pupils to not just see the world in a different way but to embody and feel an experience of injustice and despair.

 Here Development education empowers pupils to experience and reflect on experiences of injustice and then to analyse and challenge those injustices. Global poverty, inequality and hunger interlink with our everyday lives. What we buy, who we vote for, what we choose to see, hear and act on impacts on all of us, locally and globally. Those of us who do not take action also lose their dignity.
